The Discarded Rose
The discarded rose meant sadness, hate and perhaps heartbreak to one, a sense of joy, hope and faith to another. This is the story of how a beautiful red rose meant for someone’s beloved found its way to someone who needed it like a sign from the universe. A lot of people believe in signs don’t they, I know I do. During the Valentine pre celebration week, 3 days before the occasion itself, I went for a walk near my college. With a light breeze amidst the dust covered road, darkness surrounded me. I stepped on something. Looking down I saw a beautiful red rose, covered with dust, and I picked it up. It felt like a sign from the universe. A sign that meant to say “hang in there, just a little longer”.
It’s been a while since that day. But it was also that day when I realised just like this, there are times when people endure the same pain felt by that abandoned discarded rose. However, just like the rose found its way to someone who really needed it, so do people.
Something (or someone) that has been discarded, forgotten and probably meaningless for someone could mean so much more to another. It could help people realise and believe that there is someone looking after them and wants them to stick with that belief. All one has to do, is have a little faith, be a little patient. There are times when one grows weary of that patience, and that is when the universe will maybe send another sign, perhaps till the time comes for one to meet their destiny.
